Contributors Biographies

Corinne Lee: she won the 2004 National Poetry Series USA for her first book, PYX, which will be published by Viking Penguin in 2005. These poems are from this book. Her work has been published in dozens of literary magazines, ranging from Fine Madness to Many Mountains Moving. She also has poems in online issues of journals such as GutCult and Aught. Corinne Lee has been a multiple nominee for the Pushcart Prize and was educated at the Iowa Writers Workshop. She lives in central Texas with her husband and children. Dave Skyrie: he is an artist and a poet who was born in 1948 and raised in Montreal where he graduated with a degree in Arts from Concordia University. A member of the AAAPNB (Association acadienne des artistes professionnel du Nouveau-Brunswick),the Shediac Artists Painters Society and the New Brunswick Writers Federation, Dave has published two small books of poetry as well as having his poems appear in various Canadian magazines. His poetry collections include “Several Cranes In Blue Air” and “Fallen Hurricane/Crushing Snow, with Robert Elkin. Kimberly Burwick: she received her B.A in literature from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and her M.F.A. in poetry from Antioch University- Los Angeles. Her poems have appeared in the Indiana Review, The Literary Review, Fence, Conjunctions and other journals. Her first book of poems Has No Kinsmen was published by Red Hen Press in 2006. Her second book of poetry, The Norway Tree, was published in 2007. She currently teaches at the University of Connecticut, and lives in northwestern Massachusetts. She currently has no wesite.

Carola Lundmark: she was born in 1960 and has been creating art via photography since the autumn of 2002. She uses nature as a huge well for inspiration. She concentrates on small details in soft light to achieve the dimensions of deep in her pictures. Robert Bohm: he is a poet/activist who was born in Queens, New York, and has been writing for over one-quarter century. He says he writes to be heard, but increasingly finds himself writing in isolation. Some of his poetry speaks through other people’s voices and explains it is because no individual possesses just "one" voice. Jill Chan: she has had work published in major New Zealand literary magazines Poetry New Zealand, JAAM, Brief, Southern Ocean Review, Bravado, Trout, Deep South, Spin; and featured in their audio podcasts on miPOradio; in foam:e, Asia and Pacific Writers Website, and many other print and online journals. Her first book of poetry, The Smell of Oranges, was published by Earl of Seacliff Art Workshop (ESAW) in 2003. Becoming Someone Who Isn't, was published by ESAW in 2007. Her third collection, These Hands Are Not Ours, will be published by ESAW in 2009. She is one of the poets featured in the New Zealand Poetry Sound Archive. She was born in Manila, Philippines. Charles Potts: he was born, raised, and somewhat educated in Idaho. He writes, publishes, and edits in Walla Walla, Washington where he's lived for the past twenty-five years. He is the foundation underneath The Temple where he sponsors and subsidizes to one degree or another, dance arts, visual arts, martial arts, music, and literary arts at the Temple School of Poetry. Christoper Stott: he has been fascinated with the arts since a young age (b. 1976). He followed his instincts and completed his education in art and art history, focusing on both photography and painting. In 2003 he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. Using the universal language of familiar objects and an approachable aesthetic in his work, he has sold several hundred paintings in only a few short years to collectors across the United States, Europe and Canada. He takes his cues from various eras of art including the interiors of Vermeer, the still life of Chardin to the realism of Thiebaud. He resides in a small but beautiful city virtually hidden in the vast plains of the Canadian prairies. He works in an in-house studio with his wife and two young children. J. Andrew Lockhart: he is the author of "Tangled in Wisteria," a music teacher and the in father of four. He likes cooking and enjoys the smell of coffee. His work has been published in the United States, Canada and Australia, including Haiku Harvest, Clouds Peak, Stylus Poetry Journal, Wisteria, American Tanka, Fire Pearls, Eucalypt and Modern English Tanka. Ren Powell: she is the editor of Babel Fruit online journal, and the administrator of the protestpoems.org project. Her publishing credits include ten books of translations and two books of poetry. Her poems have been translated and published in Norwegian, French, Basque, Spanish and Croatian and have appeared in PEN‘s Magazine, Segue, Beacons, and Ice Flow, among others.
